In the beautiful setting of Wartegg Castle in Rorschacherberg, I had the pleasure of telling a charming St. Nicholas story about the little donkey Niculin. The large group of men listened attentively to this lovely winter tale by Emil Bürer. As a surprise, I arranged for Ruedy Baumann's small but excellent alphorn ensemble to perform. The wonderful sounds drew many Kiwanis members to the starry night in the front garden of Wartegg Castle, where the alphorn group played. Afterwards, the "real" St. Nicholas, accompanied by his helper Schmutzli, even paid us a visit and presented each Kiwanis member with a small gift.
